Japanese Tetsubin – Nest-shaped
This beautiful Iwate-ken made tetsubin (cast-iron teapot) is one of our most popular products, and certainly for good reason. Its perfectly balanced “nest or egg” shape makes pouring tea an absolute pleasure – a fine decorative addition to any home.
What helps to make this tetsubin truly special is its unique wood lid, which brings a charming modern character to the product. The inside of the teapot is coated in enamel, which helps to prevent rusting, plus it comes with a removable stainless steel mesh infuser basket to make brewing your favourite tea wonderfully easy. The matching trivet (iron coaster) is also included, which not only serves as a handsome stand, but also helps the teapot retain its heat extremely well.
This TETSUBIN (TETSU means “iron” and BIN meaning “pot” or “vessel”) was made in northern Iwate-ken, a region considered to produce the finest ironware in Japan. Ironware made in Iwate is called Nambu-tekki and is praised worldwide for its beauty, strength, and magnificent quality.
