A KANENORI KATANA

Description:

According to NTBHK (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Sword), this brilliant blade was made by swordsmith Kanenori who hailed from the Mino province, currently Gifu prefecture.
Pay close attention to the detailed Sanskrit engraving and impressive groove lines along the length of the blade. This carvings pay tribute the kami or gods to keep the owner, the Samurai, safe and empowered.
Everything about this blade is fascinatingly impressive. From the carvings, to its length of over 70cm (which is rare and makes the piece more valuable), to it’s significant curvature.
The shirasaya (scabbard) is independently signed and appraised by an expert (the painting on the saya is called sayagaki).
This prestigious sword will be the centerpiece of the room it is displayed within. A prized investment for generations to enjoy.
