Kurotake bamboo

Kurotake, meaning “black bamboo” in Japanese, is a running bamboo, which is a variety of bamboo that tends to spread above ground. Kurotake can be used for the creation of ornamental pieces, but it has many other uses such as construction and fence building. The culms darken and turn black best in direct sunlight and, in ground, can spread to about 10 meters (30 feet) in all directions in just 6 months.
