Description:
This is a sword that is over 500 years-old and is lucky to have both a near-mint condition Japanese Navy Officer’s sharkskin scabbard from WWII plus a wonderful scabbard made in the late Edo period.
In the past, it was not uncommon for the Samurai to have several mountings for each of his swords. Depending on the occasion or simply his mood that day, he select his preferred mount.
The only issue with the sword is that it does have some traces of rust. You have the option to take the sword as it is and leave her in less than ideal condition, or you can have us help you restore this blade (which we’d prefer you’d do). The extra cost is just ¥60,000 and you have the opportunity to meet the expert sword polisher as well to add to the memory.
Once complete, this sword will give the owner a well-deserved sense of achievement. The sword will look almost brand new, and saved for future generations to admire.
